Safety and Facial Hair: A Complicated Relationship

We often get people in our store tell us that they’re not allowed to have facial hair on their jobsite under any circumstances.

At the same time, we all know a local tradesmen who has a beard that would put Santa to shame.

So what’s the deal?

Is having facial hair an actual safety concern? Does it matter what type of trade you’re in? What about the jobsite? Does facial hair protect you from hazardous particles? Is it just a way to make workers look clean and orderly?
